I have eaten Sonny's BBQ since 1974 but never again since Tillman's opened. Great family owned business, takes great pride in their food and it is the most wonderful melt in your mouth BBQ ever. High quality meats, homemade beans and deserts and everything is amazing. Y'all come back as there just ain't none better!

Wow! I've had BBQ in Chicago, Kansas City, NY, homemade smokers, and many other places. This place is the best. It's all about the food here!! The flavor of the ribs is just a perfect combination of smokey and BBQ sauce. The food doesn't depend on the sauce to give the meat flavor. The meats flavor is from how it's prepared. The Sauce is just an extra bonus. The meat on the ribs fall off. And the ribs were nice and moist. The best BBQ I have ever had. Well Done. Don't change!

Solid BBQ joint. Prices are on point with quality. Ribs are a bit fatty for my liking, but the flavor is great. There's a variety of sauces to choose from. Service is friendly. Food is freshly made as evidenced by the smokers located on site. I consider this more of a take-out lunch restaurant than a dine-in establishment however. Comparitively, I believe this is a step up from Sonny's BBQ. Take that for what it's worth.

I don't know if Tillman's BBQ is really famous.. but it should be! I tried a combo meal with pulled pork, ribs and chicken.. the pulled pork was not my favorite (it was a little too pulled, like tiny little bits of pork) *BUT* the ribs and the chicken were aweesssoommmeee. Very moist, perfectly smoky and flavorful. When I return (and I don't return to many restaurants in this area) I will definitely get the ribs and chicken again.

So glad to be back visiting Hutchinson Island / Ft Pierce! Love love love this BBQ - pulled pork sandwiches and ribs are delicious! Haven't tried anything else because I love those two so much! Maybe someday...... Enjoy!

Food is quite good a majority of the time. I have eaten here probably 10-15 times, and have been very happy with the food all but twice. Happy to have another food choice in Fort Pierce!

Very good BBQ. Meaty ribs. The location has changed, please note. They are now on the corner of St. Lucie Blvd and Rt. 1 north of Ft. Pierce. Employees very friendly. We went late Sunday afternoon and the only side they had was potato salad, but that was excellent. Can't wait to go again, next time some pulled chicken!

Really good BBQ! My boyfriend & I were a little pessimistic but after seeing it was a roadside BBQ place that had come up, I had to try it. My boyfriend had the ribs. They definitely come right off the bone! Personally I like my ribs a little more fatty & juicy, but the smokey flavor was really great. No sauce needed! I got the pulled pork sandwich & YUM! I REALLY loved the flavor of the pork, again- NO sauce needed! I also had the potato salad as my side- huge fan! My only real complaint was the sauce, not that it was needed, but these guys need a sauce with a little kick! I'd also like to say Brittney was great. Really sweet, came over as I was about to get up and offered to do it for us. It was a nice gesture. Great place guys!

Baked beans are SUPER sweet if you're into that kinda thing. Not my forte, but still good. Ordered the 1/4 chicken daily special, all of my food was cold- but had a good flavor. I'd recommend taking food to go instead of dining in!

This place was just awful. The service was bad, the restaurant was dirty, the ladies taking orders at the counter were eating while trying to take orders, the trash cans were overflowing, no ice in the soda machine, no syrup either, the coke was just carbonated water. They messed up our order in 3 different ways. We saw them mess up the orders of at least 4 other patrons. Avoid this place. Yuck.

We had super high hopes for this place. Atmosphere was good. I do like the setup of this location where you order at the window and they call you to pick up as sometimes I don't want to pay for service. The ladies at the counter were super attentive. We ordered the sampler platter for $14. That included half a chicken, 2 ribs, pulled pork, baked beans and 3 slices of Texas toast. Bang for your buck when you think of portion for value. The pulled pork was ok. From experience Bob's Place on Seaway Drive is better or even Sonny's. I was no fan of the chicken as it had a curry taste to it like Chicken Kitchen sauces in Miami, Fl. The ribs were cooked well and fell off the bone but none of the fat was trimmed off of it, not even from the top. The ribs did have a pleasant smokiness to them. The baked beans were my favorite. I haven't had such flavorful beans in a long time. They are on the sweet side but had a ton of meat in them and didn't taste like they were out of a can. They have two types of barbecue sauce the standard common bbq which wasn't sweet nor tangy and the tangy mustard (Carolina bbq sauce). I only needed to add a bit to the pulled pork as the meat was covered adequately. We sat across the kitchen doors and the honey was able to catch a glimpse of the inside and said it looked clean (he has over 8 years of experience in the service industry and a degree in culinary studies). This is equally important to us. They have a self serve soda fountain which was running low on syrup which seems to be an ongoing issue. Overall, it's decent. The beans were a homerun. I will probably be back just for a side of baked beans.

This place was excellent when it was just a roadside BBQ joint. The Tillmans, flush with their success, opened a storefront restaurant and that appears to be their downfall. Naturally their overhead is significantly higher with a storefront and the product suffers for it. Inexplicably, Tillman's rented a restaurant site that has been home to a string of failed restaurants. The location is cursed. Nonetheless, things started out well with generous portions at a reasonable price. The BBQ is tasty, there is no denying that, but recently they have cut their portions in half. The pulled pork sandwich, that used to cover the roll with plenty of fall-outs to eat after the sandwich was devoured, has turned into a skimpy sandwich with a coleslaw portion so small it is literally one bite. The portion has been cut in half but the price remains the same. Better to raise the price to cover expenses than to cut the portion. I had high hopes that Tillman's would make it, but recent management decisions do not bode well for their longevity. Tillman's has to compete with Dales BBQ. Tillman's food tastes much fresher, moister and better than Dales but they are inconsistent. Dales is always the same, you can count on it year after year. The dining public does not like surprises. Tillman's needs to get its act together or they will be just another failed restaurant in Ft. Pierce.
